While Emily and Tess seem much happier overall these days their tempers are still short. New country. New school. With so many changes I'm not surprised the stress causes them their behavior to slip. After one particularly epic meltdown a friend emailed me a link to how to make these sparkly calm down jars. They idea is you shake up the jar when you are upset and then you watch the glitter float down and it results in a calming effect.
We had the ingredients on hand and we do enjoy a good craft so they seemed worth a try. In fact, I headed off one post-school melt down just by suggesting that we go home to do a special project with sparkle glue. We had fun making them and have already put them to good use. The girls even made one for me. I'll let you know how they work out. Keep your calming, stress reducing, anger management tips coming - we could certainly use them!
