Ferry to Watson's Bay

Today we chose to take Nina and Grampi out to Watson's Bay where Brian and I went on our very first day in Sydney two years ago. We loved coming around the harbor on the ferry and seeing them get their first glimpse of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

We enjoyed a lunch of fish and chips down by the waterside. This time we knew to stay under cover to keep the sea gulls at bay. We then took the short walk up the hill to look out over the ocean side cliffs.

If you look closely in the picture below you'll see an enormous cruise ship heading out of the harbor.

We continued our walk down to the light house at the end of the South Head. Emily enjoyed leading the way. The girls' endurance for walking has increased dramatically since we've been here. Clearly the 3/4 of a mile walk to school (and then back) has helped.

I've never seen so many sailboats out in the harbor. We think there must have been a regatta.

We had a beautiful and busy day but we did not have time for swimming or sand castle making. Perhaps we'll get to that tomorrow.
