We love ferries. We happily take them whenever we can. We particularly enjoy riding ferries on Sundays because we can get Family Funday passes that allow each of us to ride all the ferries, buses and trains we want for $2.50 per person.
For day three with Nina and Grampi we figured a beach day was in order so we took two ferries out to Manly beach to give them a glimpse of the oceanside surf scene. We walked along the edge of the water all the way down to the Fairy Bower ocean pool.
The girls really took to the pool - particularly Tessie since she had her water wings. We ended up spending so much time there we never got around to playing in the sand.
Speaking of sand, I chose not to bring our good camera today for fear of getting it wet or sandy. Instead, we brought the kids' camera and Emily took quite a few pictures including the above one of Tess and me; and the two below.
Low tide left a variety of sea life in the shallow pools including this eel and sea urchin.
Here's Emily's picture of people in the surf.
