Zoo play date

Today we returned to the zoo - this time with a new friend that we met on our first trip to the library. His parents are still on summer holiday and were happy to show us around and share tips about life in Sydney. We saw kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, giraffes, chimpanzees and even a cool instillation with dinosaurs tucked around the park.

We traveled by bus this time - not quite as scenic as the ferry approach but it was interesting to go through the northern suburbs and get a better sense of how Sydney fits together. We also stopped by our local park on the way home and this time we saw other kids! I think a lot of people must travel this time of year but our hope is they're starting to come back home now.

We also took some pictures by the beautiful roots of a fig tree. I adore the flora around here. There are dozens of kinds of flowering trees, many of them quite fragrant. Gardenia, jasmine, plumeria, eucalyptus - I only know some of the names but I look forward to learning more!
